TEP, TAPP and inflammation
This has probably been discussed already (apologies for this). Does it matter where the mesh is placed, as far as inflammation/body response is concerned? If it does, which one would be better then, TEP or TAPP (assuming same mesh, same size although the two might differ here? ) ?
And which technique offers an easier path to removing the mesh if there is a problem?

No. The final position of the mesh is the same. The approach for TAPP starts intra-abdominally, so bowel is visible. But the mesh placement is in exactly the same place.

I thought TEP : Totally Extraperitoneal Repair which is bit closer to external muscless
TAPP: Trans Abdominal Pre pritonial Abdominal repair closer to Intestine relative to where mesh is placed -

Thanks for the answer! I was kind of wondering whether the peritoneum divided areas of the body that might behave differently, but I guess not from the inflammation point of view….
