Question about Inguinal hernia mesh and nerves. Two questions
Hello, I was recently diagnosed with a Bilateral Inguinal hernia. I talked to the surgeon referred to by my general practitioner and he recommends the Robotic surgery using the Bard 3d mesh. I was discussing this with a friend of mine and he said that the Bard 3d mesh traps the Inguinal Nerve and this can cause serious issues later on. Is this true?
Also my friend said that the Surgeon will sometime cut the Inguinal nerve. Is that okay? If the Inguinal nerve is not a motor nerve I am wondering if this is ok? Gosh, I feel lost. I would appreciate some help, thank you.
