  • Hernia surgeons using Phasix ?

Phasix looks like the most helpful and promising technology for hernia repair, providing a totally resorbable mesh but with the strength of the non-resorbable current mesh products. Phasix resorbs in 12-18 months, decomposing in CO2 and water, leaving behind the solid scar tissue wall for hernia repair. Does anyone know of or have any experience with any surgeons using Phasix currently in US?

Thank you! I checked dr Nguyen site. He seems to be doing many procedures in the abdominal region, hernia repair being one of them. I had a consultation with a local surgeon and he mentioned he does robotic with mesh exclusively, but only non-absorbable mesh. I asked about Phasix mesh, and he said that it is too new and there is not enough data on it. I will try to find the posts where you talk about your experience/research and get more info.

i got Phasix mesh about a year ago. i haven’t had any issues however , as i have stated in previous post, i now have a inguinal hernia on the left side, i haven’t decided whether to get open without mesh or phasix again. the dr was Nguyen in Los Altos California. put phasix in the search and you will get some other posts on it. i read of one person that had issues with it but not sure if it was on this blog or on a facebook group blog. if i find it , i will let you know. Dr Nguyen has been using Phasix for at least 5 years and said patients have had very little issues with it. he also does traditional non mesh surgery . check out his website.
