Thank you Dr. Towfigh for your response – you are very kind to write to me. My surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic, Mary Jean Uy-Kroh, said she knows you. I showed her an article you were quoted in from the NY Times in 2011.
To clarify, the “pain” in the buttock is a burning ache that radiates from under my leg from the groin and under the thigh – it’s not true “pain” that is unique to the area but a radiating ache.
Can a hernia pain come and go? like can the pain last 10 days and then subside for three months or for one month after extensive horizontal rest and decreasing all activity?
When is the best time to get evaluated by a doctor? During the episode or after?
Again, I am grateful for your reply and for possible investigative points. I understand how valuable your time is.
