Good general advice is see a doctor who has experience working with patients like yourself (very physically fit, very physically active), and preferably a hernia specialist / expert with a notable amount of experience. There are multiple ways to fix a hernia, be sure to discuss and understand each of them so you know what is recommended for you and why.
