Hi, first time posting here. All throughout high school I worked out religiously, without focusing on core exercises. I’m now 21 and the surgery I had for my inguinal hernia (right side) happened just (7 days) after my 20th (or 19th, I’m losing track of time) birthday. I am completely certain that I have another one on my left side as the pain is very similar to the first one (however it seems to be much more widespread). I had the mesh implant and the full surgery (rather than laparoscopic). Both sides are becoming increasingly painful and I am now experiencing constant discomfort and occasional soreness in my testicle (right), which also seems to be at an off angle. I’ve seen multiple doctors and specialists including an anaesthetist and more recently a urologist. All of which tell me nothing is wrong and the pain is typical. This can’t be typical. One of the doctors at the ER when I went because of my testicle actually gave me antibiotics, saying it was something similar to a torsion (never got an actual diagnosis). I feel as though I am being taken advantage of without receiving any proper help. I have an appointment with a General Practitioner scheduled a month from now as I need to see a doctor who I will see again and will have access to my file, so as not to be written off. I guess I’m just looking for some reassurance that I’m not going to die, or some advice on where to go from here.
PS: I’ve went from 190 lbs to 140 in the last year or two

From what I’ve read and heard from people who have inguinal hernias, if you develop one on one side, you’re most likely to get one on the other. Not in most cases I’’’m sure. I could be wrong. But it could be another hernia on the other side. One good thing about laparoscopic repaired inguinal hernias is that they’’re able to see the other side to check if there’s another defect.
