hello. An ultrasound has imaged a 4mm muscle tear above a 4 year old laparoscopic hernia mesh placement.
Should I be worried about this? It’s apparently reducible according to the ultrasound technician and report writer. I can’t even see a bulge.
Could there be a mistake? Should I have another ultrasound or some other mode of imaging? I really hope there’s a mistake as I’d rather not have another operation.

thanks in advance for your consideration

Hernias should be repaired if they give problems otherwise, most of them can be observed with minimal risk.

Ultrasounds May Miss hernias, but it’s rare for them to incorrectly show a hernia when there isn’t one there.

Is the 4mm tear giving you any trouble?
    Where is the tear located?
Why did you have the ultrasound in the first place?
    Regards.
