I have been trying to get a diagnosis for my pelvic and groin pain for 8 months. I have burning pain that started on both sides between my hip bones radiates up in both sides and back feeling like a side stitch and burns whenever i sit for a while. It also goes down into my groin area and down my left inner thigh. I have a tender area on my left labia that is a burning pain whenever i sit. Standing and exercise makes me feel my best. Sitting is awful. I’ve had ultrasounds been to my gp ,gynecologist vascular doctor a surgeon and gastreoenterologist and still no diagnosis. My gp thought i.had a hernia but the surgeon didnt feel a bulge and sais since the pain is on both sises said i didnt have one. My gastreoenterologist wanta me to have a colonoscopy which doesnt make sense since i dont have food related issues. The only thing i do get is pressure pain when my bladder or bowels r full. I dont even know where to turn. I feel like no one is ever going to find my problem. Could this be a hernia? I live in ny so i am hoping eventually i will find a dr to help me.

Thank you so much for responding to me. I live on Long Island New York and work in New York City. If you could refer me to a doctor who understands womens hernias i would be most grateful.

Yes. Your symptoms may be due to hernias. In women, hernias present differently than in men.

I’m happy to help you reach a diagnosis and treatment. Alternatively, let us know where you live and we can refer you to a specialist nearby.
