Yesterday i have received ilioinguinal nerve block. Dr injeced the cortison and anestehetic to the nerve near iliac crest. He found nerve with ultrasound. But after the procedure i didnt feel any difference. No change in pain. No numbness in groin. Nothing. İ look for ilioinguinal nerve inervation zone from Medical sources. But there is no feeling difference at that zones. İs it acceptable or Dr inject the liquid innto the wrong nerve or he made something wrong??

Since the block is primarily used for diagnostic purposes it may be that the illioguinal nerve is not the root cause of your pain. There are 2 other major nerves in the groin area so maybe they are the cause. Usually the doctor will move on to the next nerve and do another block of a different never if the first nerve block did not ease or eliminate pain symptoms.
