Thank you for your response. I looked you up and you do all the repairs. Is there a repair that as a general rule causes less overall pain? I am a little overweight and wonder whether a sew up repair would cause pain or a mesh repair would cause more pain? Do you know? Just as a general matter? I know you might have to examine me to know for sure. It seems like sew up repairs cause more chronic pain but some say mesh repairs are more painful.

We’ve discussed this issue at length in past posts. Consider reviewing those answers.
If you look at most studies, laparoscopic repair with mesh has the lowest chronic pain rate, especially among women.
However, as you pointed out, that statement may not represent the right answer for an individual patient.
