Had PERFECT Inguinal Surgery Using 2 Layer Shouldice Technique
After waiting 8 long years and not wanting the standard mess type surgery,
I opted for the Two Layer Shouldice using Prolene vice wire. It took about a
month to lose the mild discomfort in the repair area. After that, the surgery
2.5 years later has made my body absolutely normal again and I never have
to even consider a possible new hernia. Total cure in minimal time with proper
exercise and nutrition. Just as a minor caution I do you use a jock when I will
l be doing heavy lifting since I got the hernia by not using any support. Please
realize that I put a ton of research into selecting the Two Layer Shouldice and
highly skilled doctor (Dr. Yunis). And it worked perfectly!

I’m also interested to know about the 2-layer Shouldice, I cannot locate the description. You said you’ve done a lot of research on this. Does it use the first 2 layers / 2 sutures of Shouldice? What’s the benefit, is it less tight than the original, and less post-op pain?
What type of hernia did you have – direct or indirect? Did the doctor recommend this repair for your hernia type?

Having spent 8 long years planning the appropriate hernia surgery and having watched the Drs. Jones in Great Britain do a Two Layer Shouldice, I am sure that Dr. Yunis provided an excellent Two Layer Shouldice on me. In fact, the caring Dr. Yunis called me to share in my excellent result and he confirmed he definitely performed a Two Layer Shouldice. He is the kind of doctor who really cares a lot about his patients and his superior efforts often provide the excellent results all hernia patients desire. If my future groin comfort (i.e., no pain from mesh) and resulting mobility were to be surgically determined, he is the main man I would request without any doubt at all.

Also, a two layer repair is technically not a Shouldice. It may be a Bassini or another type of two layer tissue repair.
