Inguinal hernia mesh repair
I had left inguinal hernia surgery in 2006. The op report says that they used a polypropylene mesh. It was laparoscopic surgery.
This year I have experienced pain in my groin, testicle, and leg on the left side. It is not sharp or intense pain. It is dull ache. Sometimes just a pulling, full feeling. I have seen a surgeon and have had ultrasound, which showed a small cyst on my left testicle. No hernia.
My doctor gave me two options: monitor, watch and wait or exploratory laparatomy.
Is there anyone who has a different view? I read all these posts about problems with mesh. It has to be real because there are so many people reporting the same issue. I’ve seen percentages as high as 20% of people having issues post hernia repair.
