    Hi,
I am 54 years of age and about 2 years a go I was diagnosed with a left inguinal hernia that the surgeon now says needs surgery.
I was also diagnosed with sigmoid diverticulitis on 2013 with flare ups about every 18 months.

May the sigmoid diverticulosis be a contraindication for inguinal hernia surgery?
Is there someone else in the same situation as myself?

    Thanks

In my case the surgeon will use the open technique surgery, I hope that everything will go well.
    Thanks

It is not a contraindication. But that history is important to share with your surgeon, as there are risks, especially with laparoscopic surgery, in the face of prior infection and scarring from diverticulitis.
