Mesh hernia operation bulge popped back up
A friend of mine had a inguinal hernia operation laproscopic with mesh
A month later bulge popped back up, rather than removing mesh they put more mesh
In open technique curious if doctors can chime in, would that be the way to handle it putting more mesh in

Dear Scott.
It is difficult to repeat the laparascopic procedure because the tissue planes are scarred together. Therefore if the Lap Hernia repair fails an open procedure is the best choice. The open procedure can be performed with or without mesh.
