MemberI have some pain issues going on with the opened inscion inguinial direct hernia repair that was done in 08 using barb mesh. The plug seems to be hitting a nerve or prying on a nerve when I set or drive and walk it is very painful and seems to be getting surprising hard to deal with. I have seen the surgeon that done the repair that recommended me to pain clinic and also sent me to a hernia specialist which let me know that the plug was my problem and it was irritating the illigaunil nerve and recommend pain mange ment. Which at this point has not been handled the pain. Meaning I am bed ridden! So much pain if I try to do anything. Also expert said don’t go and have a surgeon in this state just take it out there is a ton of communication mainly meaning chronic pain which is uncontrollable. Looking for a direction ?

MemberSo sorry you are having such pain. Obviously this needs to be addressed. You can’t continue along this path. Try the search bar here to look for top hernia specialists in your state. Hopefully someone else will read this and have suggestions. Where are you located? Would you travel out of state?
Best of luck to you.

MemberI’m sorry you’re going through this. Here are a few names of doctors that are frequently discussed on this site regarding groin pain, hernias, and complications from hernia surgery:
– Dr David Chen at UCLA California
– Dr Shirin Towfigh in Los Angeles
– Dr David Grischkan in Ohio
– Dr Bruce Ramshaw in Tennessee
– Dr Jonathan Yunis in Florida
– Dr Kevin Petersen in Nevada
– Dr Robert Martindale in Oregon
– Dr William Meyers in Philadelphia
– Dr William Brown in San Francisco
– Dr Igor Belyansky in Maryland
– Dr Paul Szotek in Indiana
– Dr Muschawek in Germany
There are certainly other skilled doctors out there on this topic and I’m sure I’m missing a few names. Depending on your location you may need to travel to find an expert or someone with experience relevant to your situation.
Perhaps reach out to a few of them to discuss your case and see what they say? Best of luck and keep us updated.
