    I had open inguinal mesh removal 9 weeks ago with a Shouldice repair. I started physical therapy and ART (active release technique) 3 weeks ago. PT does not hurt when I do it but It seems to flare it up the next day. Anyone out there with some advice on whether to work through the pain or back off?

    Does the ART include deep tissue massage at the repair site? I don’t recommend it. A Shouldice after mesh removal is already tenuous and in some tension.
