MRI with Valsalva in MA
Hello Dr.Towfig,
I had a MRI with Valsalva scheduled at Lowell General Hospital MA, through Shields MRI looking for an occult hernia. They cancelled my appointment because they have no experience with doing the Valsalva protocol. Do you know of any center or hospital in MA that does do this protocol? Also any hernia doctors in my area?

I did that but they said no, “we have no experience with that and don’t want to try doing it because it requires 6 hours of work on our end.” they cancelled my appointment, it was supposed to be today. 🙁 I’d gotten this appointment 3 weeks ago, gave my Primary Care Dr. the protocol & he submitted it with the order. How can I go about finding a center that does this, without finding out last minute that they don’t do it. I’m very frustrated. Thank you for your help!

Show my protocol to the radiology center and see if they can reproduce it. Not everyone does it.
