  pain meds concern

  My non-mesh hernia repair (umbilical) was done yesterday. I’m supposed to take Acetaminophen ever 4 waking hours; Naphroxen (Aleve etc.) every 12. I hardly have pain and normally wouldn’t take anything if I felt like this. Is Naphroxen for pain more than anti-inflammatory and is the latter necessary? The info coming with N says it can disturb sleep – it has! Also info out there about possible mood altering (depression, etc.) which is an effect I felt.

  If I’m prescribe things that are for my healing, that is different than if it is for pain. This is all new to me. I’d love info.
  (There is a reason why I’m not comfortable presently with Acet. either, and would prefer limiting its use.)
