Paper: "Radiologic Reporting and Interpretation of Occult Inguinal Hernia"
I stumbled into a paper intended for surgeons but that is undoubtedly potentially beneficial for some patients as well, particularly for anyone suffering from groin pain and chronic groin pain with an uncertain cause but where suspicion of hernia exists.
The paper is titled “Radiologic Reporting and Interpretation of Occult Inguinal Hernia” by Dr Joseph Miller, Dr Aylish Tregarthen, Dr Rola Saouaf, Dr Shirin Towfigh and the conclusion is highly relevant to patients:
quote :CONCLUSIONS: Most radiologic reports issued for CT and MRI studies were incorrect for evaluation of occult inguinal hernia. Over-read radiologist reports were more than twice as accurate when evaluating the same images.
