Possible hernia? And doctor recommendations
Hello! I was curious if there are any known physicians in PIttsburgh, PA who know what to look for when searching for occult inguinal hernias? I’ve been dealing with longstanding pelvic pain for some time. I’ve had numerous pelvic imaging tests that always come up showing nothing. The pain is lower left side, near where I’d identify my ovary. The pain is often more uncomfortable with a full bladder, full bowel, after hard workouts/runs, with bending, sitting or standing for long period of time, and becomes more tender (but not debilitating) around ovulation and menses. my cycles are very uneventful (no majorly heavy bleeding or terrible cramping) and I’ve always had a very easy time getting pregnant. I have had 3 c-sections. It is in a very specific location and sometimes goes down my leg or wraps around my back. I recently had a somewhat large functional ovarian cyst (4cm) which went away after one cycle, but the soreness in the spot was made worse while the cyst was present and has remained tender thereafter.
Trying to find a local physician who will know what to look for if they go in and look. I’m meeting with a minimally invasive gyne surgeon who specializes in women’s pelvic pain. If he operates to look for endo and adhesions, I’d like him to look in my inguinal canal for hernias, as well.
Any insight on doctors or whether this sounds like it could be a hernia would be greatly appreciated.
