psoas tendinitis or hernia?
I am a 50 year old female and had a total hip replacement just over a year ago. I have been having groin pain again. At times it is worse than others and it does bother me to sit for a long time and when I cough. There is no visible bulge. I am active working out on average 5 days a week and sometimes it gets worse with exercise. Just last week I went back to the surgeon for my year follow-up appointment and his PA suggested I follow up with my PC to rule out a hernia. I know they are difficult to diagnose in women. I have also recently found out that psoas tendinitis is becoming more common in hip replacement patients. Is there an easy way to determine one over the other?
