reducible vs irreducible hernias
Is it correct to say that an indirect hernia cannot be reduced? (or at least it is mostly not reducible?)
Also, when reducible is it also normal that one can also “reduce” it by contracting the lower abs muscles?
When I do that the hernia disappears…. -

Dear Alephy.
A hernia is reducible if the intestines can be pushed back into the abdomen. Both direct and indirect hernias can be reducible.
If the intestines become stuck in the hernia, then the hernia is called incarcerated.
