Removing Mesh Plug Question
I was wondering if anyone has had a mesh plug removed after open surgery. I have had two opinions one dr. wants to do open removal, where the other wants to do it robotically from behind. Just wondering others experiences, and pros/cons of the different removal types.

According to the op report it is only the plug that was used, no overlay. I know the surgeon I recently saw said there is a deep protrusion n my hernia area which may have been caused by previous surgery or something else.

Depends on whether the onlay part of the mesh needs removal and also whether there is a deep protrusion of the plug into the abdominal pelvic space.
