I have severe pain in my left pelvis towards the groin. After an ultrasound I’m told it is a spigelian Hernia. I also have an umbilical hernia which doesn’t give me pain. Both are non reducible. I have no lump.
I had to see a surgeon for an unrelated colorectal issue, who told me that the pain I’m getting couldn’t be coming from the spigelian hernia as it’s too low down, and they don’t operate on hernias until they become an emergency. She also suggested the pain could be coming from back and radiating to the groin. I have no issues with my back.
I have read just about everything I can on Google and every article tells me that this type of hernia is rare and also dangerous as it has a high possibility of strangulation. I am concerned about this and wonder if anyone else here has had this specific type of hernia. On the ultrasound image, it is very clearly in my groin area and has an 8mm neck.

Find a general surgeon who enjoys hernia surgery.
