Surgery with Dr. Kang next week
Hello,
I am new here on herniatalk. I am a 22 year old from the US who has an inguinal hernia surgery scheduled with Dr. Kang in South Korea next week. I believe I’ve had my hernia for nearly a year, but it has recently been getting more aggravated and causing more pain. Though I have my surgery scheduled, and am very glad to not be receiving mesh (which I don’t trust one bit) I am still very nervous for my surgery. At 22, I am so young, I have a fear of chronic pain following this procedure (which I think is brushed over by most surgeons when they refer to this as a simple routine surgery). I am wondering if any of you have any wisdom to give me before I go in for my surgery. Any experiences with Dr. Kang? Even though I wouldn’t want a recurrence, my biggest fear is chronic pain. At 22, I simply can not have chronic pain for the rest of my life, I could not live that way. I’m hoping to receive some responses, I’m currently losing sleep every night reading as much through this forum as possible and it’s driving me crazy.
Regards,
Kody
