is it possible to have ventral hernia mesh removed using tep method that was placed using tapp method? if it isn’t possible, can a new mesh be placed using tep or really anything that doesn’t involve the mesh having contact with the intestines??

Usually via open surgery. Some do it robotically but it’s not easy.

drtowfigh and when you say the only way to place mesh away from intestines is retro muscular after TAPP ventral removal, is that done by conversation to open surgery after removal or is it done laparoscopically as well?

drtowfigh glad to hear that… do you have experience when it comes to positioning the mesh retro muscularly after an ipom mesh removal?

and are most ipom mesh repairs successful from what you’ve seen??

Excellent result. Best of all ventral hernias methods.

After TAPP ventral mesh removal, the only way to replace mesh away from intestines is a retro muscular placement.
