Tension free pure tissue repairs?
I am just wondering, is there such a thing as a tension free pure tissue repair? what do they do exactly NOT to cause any tension? or is it just a “less tension” pure tissue repair?
I am also wondering, why is it not an option to have a suture only repair while also using an absorbable mesh to provide extra reinforcement for those 4 to 6 weeks necessary for the required healing? is it a cost problem?

– no. All tissue repairs have tension.
– it’s possible to do. It adds a lot to the cost—-more than the reimbursement provided by the insurer. And patients do not want to pay out of pocket for this.
