    I had an abdominal ct scan done earlier this year for different abdominal pain with no mention of a hernia in the results. From some of the things i’ve read recently it looks like the abdominal wall isn’t always looked at, and small hernias can be missed. Could the old scan show if there was weakness? or would only a new scan show this ?

    Yes absolutely. Chances are a hernia has been there well before you noticed it.
