and myself made the same mistake you are proposing to make…talked to doctors and to friends…in AGMs case his friends didnt even have good reports and he still went ahead with lap mesh surgery…because he didnt want to pay travel costs…i dont get that. I would have traveled to mars to avoid the problems i am having now. GI strikes me as a…[Read more]

peter i hear you…i myself am heading down the drain…only in my case i was butchered by the extremely dangerous lap mesh procedure. Anyone promoting this surgery as safe is a liar…its extremely destructive to the abdominal wall…and gigantic mesh blankets are used to complete the surgery…bottom line is if you have a hernia…your odds of…[Read more]

As i try to clean up my double inguninal lap mesh disaster…i am seeking guidance about what do do once my ab wall is shredded by removal. Dr Tomas has refused to do a desarda repair on my Bard 3e max removal tissue…Dr, Towfigh dismisses the Desarda repair and continues to push the dangerous lap mesh solution as the gold standard….i believe…[Read more]

as i approach my double mesh removal surgery with DR B severral have cautioned me against it saying that my risk of developing a femoral hernia which only be fixed with mesh is significant…apparently removing the plastic garbage causes the abdominal wall to weak and a femoral hernia to form which can only be repaired by mesh….did those of your…[Read more]

Do you think your case is an aberration? I dont suppose you can find it in your heart to have a quick phone chat with me as I make final arrangments to have the mesh removed. Honestly after reading your post…which i think you meant to be encouraging…i am more conflicted than ever, My mesh is pure junk..3d Bard..and there is a ton of it.…[Read more]

GI thanks so much for your input…i am in panic mode as i consider removal surgery. Its hard to believe that a tough surgery like this wont have consequences when the original “routine” surgery has destroyed my life. Dr B gave me lots of warnings about what could go wrong and he said he couldnt say that the surgery would make me better at…[Read more]

I guess my inclination would be to go forward with removal…if the hernia would come back in the same way it originally came…gently and with time to see a good tissue repair guy like kang….my main concern about removal is that i am left in a situation where reherniation simply means you have to put more mesh in…..thoughts appreciated

Does the fact that i had TEP surgery make re
moval more difficult or destructive? Did any of you consider the systemic risks of mesh imp;ants as part of your decision? some say these risks are speculative…but 48 square inches of plastic seems like a ton…Bard 3d max is known to ball up too…so it just makes sense to me to bite the bullet and…[Read more] -

Watchful…as you say hindsight is 2020….i had several docs tell me the other side was weak and would herniate soon…one unltra sound showed a small nernia…another showed nothing…so when the Ahole told me there was a hernia there i figured it made sense to get them both done to avoid another sugery…i was hopelessly ignorant about the…[Read more]

Good Intentions…one question i do have is whether you had any new symptoms as a consequence of the removal….most of Dr Bs patients say they didnt….and i find it hard to believe that a 3 hour blasting from a robot will leave me unscathed…when the initial 30 minute surgery was so destructive…thanks GI

Good Intentions thanks for your input…very much respect you…and the fact that a smart guy like you fell for the mesh scam gives me some consolation. Dr B is a very humble guy…but he says mesh is safe…could not find any issues with mine but was willing to take it out. If its so safe why is he removing it once or twice per week. Many have…[Read more]

Dr Towfigh. First let me thank you for your input here. For donating time so generously. You always say lap tep mesh is one of the best options for hernia repair. But the more I study it and talk with patients and doctors the more I am terrified that I got this surgery. The complication rate and the variety of complications that can occur is…[Read more]

Are you kidding me? Great experiences. Lap surgery requires big blankets of plastic mesh. It gets shoved through a tube and then the surgeon tries to place it using chopsticks and watching a big screen tv across the room. Watch one of these operations sometime. The mesh starts folding right off the bat and the surgeons start shooting tacks into…[Read more]

Folks. I am simply shocked that lap surgery for hernias is legal. I have been doing a ton of research on this and am shocked. It’s seems like nearly everyone I talk to who had lag lap mesh surgery has some sort of complication. Be it pain. Mesh migration. Adhesions. Bowel resections. Foreign body. Suffer with prostatitis like symptoms when your mesh was in? I have constant pain and burning. Weak stream. Urgency etc. nick Schiller advised he had the same until his mesh was removed. Then the symptoms went away. I have been taking antibiotics without any improvement.
