    Hi Tina, If i was in your place the only doctor i would consider drtowfigh founder of this forum. Regardless of traveling and cost.. It cost me some money to travel but doctor of my choice fix my problem and i could get alone with my life and NOT be hedicapeted for life or constantly thinking about pain or something… Like so many people do.

    Hernia surgery is truly miner if you do correctly …but can become life lasting problem no one wants to have .

    My experience and knowing what recovery looks like ,talking to others, telling me when comes to hernia with hi level of recurrence /complications and pain for life …You have the only one chance to do it correctly ONE …Or do you think if something will go wrong, someone else will fix it for you ..think again

    Find the excellent doctor with proven result who does excellent job in no mesh surgery is extremely difficult ..just a very few and we listing them on this forum …you probably know that even US congressmen was traveling to Canada to do surgery there..Google it

    I like to say the truth is it is! If i were you i would do surgery with Dr. Towfigh yesterday

    Dear Kaspa…i waited to long and got direct hernia on top of indirect i had before ..so my outcome could be even better and recovery faster if i would fly to Dr.Brown earlier and get it done. Waiting isn’t the best option in my opinion

    Hello dear! just kindly letting you know when i interviewed doctors and did my research ..i did it for whole year ..This forum knows that.. I learned that average good doctor who does both mesh /no mesh surgery will have recurrence between 10 to 20 % ….BEST doctors from that category { who do both} from 5 to 7 %
    .And just a really few and who do only No mesh surgery can get between 1 to 3 % …Believe me you wont to do it one time and forget about that ..knowing that any revisions will increase risk of failure .I picked dr Brown. it was just my experience …I am glad i did ….But good luck for you!

    Especially since I live in Iowa. It’s hard to find ppl who don’t use mesh. Even this older Dr has switched to using mesh but said he would talk to me and consider old way on me if that’s what I want

    It is worth to travel !

    One day this forum also saved me ! Well i would look not for other older surgeon who can do with no mesh… I would look for absolutely the Best of the Best who does no mesh surgery only..regardless where that doctor is located.

    Yes please make a informed decision and do as much research as possible.. One problem with find an alternative to mesh repair is finding someone who is a expert at doing it the old fashion way. Make sure your surgeons has experience and confidence in doing a pure tissue repair.
    i have heard that the pro grip mesh is a very difficult to remove if it ever had to.
    There is the shouldice hospital in Toronto that specials in pure tissue repair and Dr. Tomas in Florida who does a pure tissue repair called the desarda technique and dr. William Brown in CA who specializes in non mesh repairs

    Mo asked me to explain it …But i also agree with Dr drtowfigh if this is the case…But even in that situation i would get second opinion from dr who specialising in tissue repair …..Well if worse come worse you can go with mesh at any time… But what if mesh will give you problem…well it is going to be totally different ball game :{

    I am not trying to be harsh ..just trying to get your attention ..so would not be regrets down the road.
    “Why not listening to this ” ? i also cancelled my surgery in the last moment ..was offered the cource of actiones same https://www.herniatalk.com/10267-exc…n-golden-hands ….did you read it ?

    But Gould Luck and God Bless You!

    I would get myself in shape with diet and supplements to be a good fit for no mesh repair,,myself i was on KETO diet { if you need it of course} I also used MSM and Collagen and vit C as Dr.Brown recommended.. as i go via that process i would pick doctor with specialty in no mesh repair if that will be your choice ! …Myself i was out of picking methods..I was picking doctor who knows them all..and can combine them sometimes!!! or modified!!! We talk about it here all the time .Just a humble suggestion only.

    10 years, and then what? Interesting that a surgeon would offer that information. We can all probably learn a lot from the field of athletics. I wish we could hear more about how they solve their problems.

    And after that in Pain for life ..or possibly even long before that term…

    The only problem is if you get in the category of minorities ….from that time you will be up the creek without paddle. So the right question is

    How can i find the surgeon that will make one time repair and result would last for life! ..Or do you believe everyone will do similar..Think again
    Does it matter how far do travel..no ..Does it matter what method is the best.no .The only think what is matter your choice of the surgeon.

    I totally agree with Good Intentions….that question is like driving in the wrong direction and in the wrong car.. Even if you would ask like.. what would be less invasive No mesh hernia repair ?..also wouldn’t be a correct question . The correct question is who would be one of a very best doctors who is excellent in no mesh repair and great with all known methods. You are lucky you found this forum.before the fact . I also lucky men that i came here and spent entire year to educate myself.. i found Dr.Brown who i believe saved my live.

    My experience …Loner you wait ..more problems usually happening… i was doing fast..dr wouldn’t need to repair my direct hernia ..that happened because of that…he would just fix indirect with even smaller incision…}
