I believe the literature shows the recommendation to be u see 25 CT scans before there is a risk of radiation-induced malignancy.

I am personally biased against the Desarda technique. It has not been tested with the rigors of other tissue repairs. There has not been transparency in sharing the data results of Desarda publicly in peer reviewed studies to the extent that there has been for the more traditional repairs, such as Shouldice and Bassini and others. Desarda is a poorly studied technique. The results are highly variable from surgeon to surgeon and not reproducible.
