not sure but i am posting this again in case you don’t see my other post but Dr Nguyen does do both mesh and non mesh. he knows at least 5 or 6 different no mesh techniques too. he is in Los Gatos , near san jose. i got phasix mesh from him a year ago and have not had any issues with it .

i got Phasix mesh about a year ago. i haven’t had any issues however , as i have stated in previous post, i now have a inguinal hernia on the left side, i haven’t decided whether to get open without mesh or phasix again. the dr was Nguyen in Los Altos California. put phasix in the search and you will get some other posts on it. i read of one person that had issues with it but not sure if it was on this blog or on a facebook group blog. if i find it , i will let you know. Dr Nguyen has been using Phasix for at least 5 years and said patients have had very little issues with it. he also does traditional non mesh surgery . check out his website.

in my experience , some belts worked for me , others did not. look at underworks website
-
also i would use a hernia belt. underworks makes good ones or the guy that made the video i posted. good luck

i wouldn’t do anything for at least 4 weeks. what type of mesh did they use? why did you have to stay overnight? anyway, hope your recovery goes well.
-
seems to me from all the posts i have seen that, no matter how good the surgeon is etc. , there is always the chance that your system will reject the mesh and then you may have chronic pain etc. but i guess that is the chance you take with mesh.. i got phasix dissolvable mesh , so far i haven’t had any issues . 8 weeks after surgery.
-
I assume you never talked to the Shouldice Hosp about it?
-
i think i mentioned in my other reply that Dr. Nguyen also does standard open surgery using whatever method he feels will be best. this is his website, it has not been updated . https://www.sportshernia.com/

MemberMarch 25, 2024 at 7:18 pm in reply to: Inguinal Hernia: Phasix Resorbable Mesh and Resorbable Suture?i see you got your surgery. i just had a rt inguinal hernia done with phasix mesh. i had didn’t have much pain so far. almost 2 weeks now. not sure what they used for sutures. the Dr said he has been using phasix for about 5 years with minimal issues
-
well i guess i am lucky so far . i had Dr Nguyen do the repair with phasix over a year ago . He said he has been using phasix for 5 years now and had very little issues with it.
i spoke to him the other day about the hernia on my other side and he said he could do no mesh repair or mesh repair . whatever i wanted. appreciate your comments.
-
my Dr. Nguyen definitely does no mesh repair. and he knows at least 5 or 6 different techniques. he said he makes that decision when he does the operation. he is in Los Gatos. near San Jose ca

have you tried any of the facebook hernia forums. specifoally the one called Inguinal Hernia support Uk GB

actually today would be week 4 and i don’t have any of that. it probably was around week 3. everyone is different and i may have a different threshold of pain. but i definitely don’t have any discomfort or pain . and i really didn’t have much after the 1st week other than the swollen parts.
-
the swelling in the groin went down after 3 weeks
-
it may depend on age etc but i am 65 and things seemed to be back to normal around the 3 rd week.
-
very mild pain, just swelling for a few weeks, which they say is normal. did you get mesh?
