If a cord lipoma is bothersome without a true hernia should you remove it?

Doesn’t that entail a mesh repair?

Can a lipoma be reduced without being resected?

Mine is reduced but tacked on the outside of the peritoneal. I don’t understand that.

Chronic pelvic floor pain. My physician thinks I’m experiencing that. It comes and goes. But sometimes it’s intense. Yesterday was intense. Today nothing.

But the day before walked a few miles, 200 stairs, bench press, arm curls, triceps, pull-ups. Then later burning. Right on my bottom. Couldn’t sleep much. Last night took some meds slept 12-14 hrs. Today no pain.

Dai Greene had his mesh removed after being repaired laparoscopically.

Never says what type of tissue repair he had. I’m guessing Shouldice.

That must mean the abdominal wall is still strong enough after a mesh removal to do a strong tissue repair that will last. Dai Greene went back to competing.

How much did it cost to remove the mesh? Dr Grischkan will do a Shouldice repair.

    Thanks Good Intentions,

No pain today. Slept 12 hrs last night.

My buddy told me his balls were swelled for 3 months after bilateral laparoscopic and didn’t return to normal for 1 year. Another guy was pretty sore for over six months but after a year was good.

Maybe it’s just as I get feeling better I get active. The day before I walked a few miles, stairs, & weightlifting. That night burning till eventually I couldn’t sleep. Then once I did get a good sleep the pain went away.

I hope you’re right. I might get some melatonin or something. Nerve pills can be addictive so I don’t want to be taking them to sleep. However sleep does wonders for me.

Thanks. Where did you get it done? Did you get a Shouldice repair after?

I just had a laparoscopic hernia mesh placed on the left. Bard 3D max mesh.

I should have opted for open but the surgeon wanted to use the scope because bilateral was suspected. I’m glad it’s only one. I thought mesh might be better for lifting & climbing at work so I was scared Shouldice would break in time.

However I hate the mesh. If it becomes a problem I’ll have it taken out. That seems expensive and not easy to find a surgeon to do it.

I think as the Robotic methods become more popular than mesh extraction will too.

Did you have mesh removed? What type of repair did you have and what type do you have now?
