I had stomach cancer surgery 12 years ago and had half my stomach removed. After that, I developed incisional hernias where I had been cut for the cancer surgery. They were pretty bad and required mesh. Incision was probably from my breastbone to my belly button. The first hernia surgery was a year after the cancer surgery, following that I had 2 laparoscopic hernia repairs over the next 2 years . Here I am 8 years after the last hernia repair, pain all the time . I decided to have the hernia mesh removed and repaired with pig skin. I’m 6 wild post op from that surgery and I’m having pain in the same side that the hernia mesh was bothering me. Worse than before I had the surgery. I know it will take time but I’m wondering why the pain is still so bad . I was supposed to have a follow up with the doctor this week, but the doctor had to reschedule.
