I have been advised that I need to have my Atrium C quit mesh removed because of recall and it’s caused me several bowel obstructions and pain. I have a big ball in the middle of my stomach and it’s painful to the touch. They think it’s separated, coiled or has attached to other organs. The CT also shows calcification. I thus mesh placed on my fourth hernia repair and never felt the same after.  I had to go on disability. I’m now experiencing what they think is bowel incontinence. I’ve been wearing diapers since last Friday. The first 3 days they were filling up 3-4 times a day. Now it’s just a little, but most in the morning. Although it’s not leaking liquid or diarrhea. It’s had stool. Every time I go potty, even to pee. I have to use wet wipes and they are full. I have to wipe 3/4 times to get real clean. I’m having a colonoscopy January 27th and may get more information about that. My gastro referred me to a surgeon two years ago and he wants me to quit smoking first, which isn’t easy. I’m just so scared at my age of 60. Otherwise I’m in good health and shape. I’m 5’5 and weigh about 129 pounds. I just went the best surgeon I can find in the Indianapolis, Indiana area. The surgeon I was referred to Dr. Eugene Ceppa in Indianapolis, but still very nervous. I’m hoping I can get some good advice here since it’s all about hernias and removal.
