For insurance?
The Clinic Hunters site quoted me 162 Euros (I think) which is about £135 or somewhere around there.
The Medical Travel Shield site has just quoted me £502.
I’m a 60yo bloke looking to travel for 12 days.

Yeah, the Medical Travel Shield is my only option so far. Pricey compared to Clinic Hunter but far better than taking the risk!

Inguinal. Not sure whether it’s direct or indirect as my GP had a stroppy when he said I had no choice but to have a mesh repair and I smiled sweetly (well, sweet enough for me) and said I ALWAYS have a choice. I think he took it personally!

Thanks William. Clinic Hunter is exactly what I’m looking for…except they don’t offer cover for UK residents! I did get a quote from them when I first looked into traveling to Korea but they have since removed the option for us Brits. I’ve also found Medical Travel Shield but their policy costs 3 times as much!
Most of the others include the following clause:
“But there are some types of claims that can’t be covered, including:
– Travelling abroad for medical treatment”As you say, there are others who have made the trip, I just wonder which insurance company they used.
Thanks,

Sorry Alephy, I mustn’t have made myself clear. I have the money for the procedure, accommodation etc. What I’m looking for now is travel insurance that will cover me for the trip. Pretty much all insurance companies say you will need specialist insurance if you are traveling for treatment abroad.
I know that I’m not the only person looking for this type of policy – according to the tabloids, half the population of the UK are opting for “Turkey Teeth”, Brazilian Butt Lifts or Gastric Sleeves. They will all need similar travel insurance.
