PeterC replied to the topic Neurectomy – a recent analysis in the forum Hernia Discussion 1 week, 2 days ago
@gohaiga Absolutely I agree there are cases where its called for. I’m mainly referring to neurectomy as part of the initial procedure for patients which I think is never justified and is absurd. The fact that they started incorporating neurectomies as a standard in certain procedures to “diminish post-op pain” is a big red flag. It feels like they…[Read more]

PeterC replied to the topic Getting a lot of negative reports re Yunis lately in the forum Hernia Discussion 1 week, 2 days ago
Hey @ajm222 – its both at the moment.
Since having Dr. Brown’s surgery I have serious structural weakness where my core is no longer this one big structure that I should be able to tense up/flex as a whole. In his surgery he cut open the external oblique aponeurosis from the external ring to the level of the internal ring and never closed it. So…[Read more]

PeterC replied to the topic Neurectomy – a recent analysis in the forum Hernia Discussion 1 week, 2 days ago
I cannot take these studies seriously. There’s a guy on here that had a bilateral triple neurectomy and his life was literally ruined. That 1 person should be where the practice ends. Its like they are desperately trying to find something that will match their own bias to justify cutting people’s nerves.
Cutting nerves is not treatment its a…[Read more]

PeterC replied to the topic Getting a lot of negative reports re Yunis lately in the forum Hernia Discussion 1 week, 2 days ago
Out of everyone I consulted he was the most “down to earth”. Its true that his receptionist is very dry for no reason but I’ve had that experience at multiple clinics. That being said Dr. Yunis seemed very honest with me. One of the only surgeons to have the guts to say that was Dr. Brown did to me was absurd and that he did hurt me while also…[Read more]

PeterC replied to the topic Kang vs. Muschaweck in the forum Hernia Discussion 1 week, 2 days ago
Do not go to Muschawek or get the Muschawek repair. Her procedure sounds wonderful on paper but it makes absolutely no sense. She cuts a nerve as part of her procedure for absolutely no valid reason – you will have permanent issues from someone cutting your nerve. She also creates a flap out of the internal oblique if I am not mistaken – again…[Read more]

PeterC replied to the topic Anyone knows what kind of doctor I am supposed to see? in the forum Hernia Discussion 3 weeks, 3 days ago
@cerebralsuccour What Dr. Brown did to me can indeed be interpreted as a hernia surgery its the same area and similar technique despite having no bulge or hernia. One might even argue that what he did would’ve been better suited to treat a really unathletic older person with a big hernia not an athlete. The reason I don’t know what doctor to go to…[Read more]

Hey @cerebralsuccour thank you for the suggestions. I have not contacted Shouldice being that I never had a traditional hernia in the first place rather I had tearing in the abdominal tissues from overuse from being a dancer. From my experience so far all the surgeons that specialize in traditional hernias rather than dealing with athletes/sports…[Read more]

PeterC replied to the topic Anyone knows what kind of doctor I am supposed to see? in the forum Hernia Discussion 1 month, 1 week ago
Hi Dr. Towfigh,
I have not been offered a plan of care by anyone. Dr. Zoland just said he doesn’t even see what Dr. Brown did wrong and stopped there. Dr. Yunis said what happened to me is an abomination but also did not know how to help me and did not offer a plan of care.
Dr. Meyers did not exactly provide a plan of care he just wants to do…[Read more]

Hello (again) everyone,
As I am approaching 3 years since I got mutilated and seriously hurt by Dr. Brown, I am once again using this platform to ask for suggestions or help. I just spent my third Christmas since the surgery and I am at a point where I have lost all joy or feeling in life (having lost my career and my entire life as a result of…[Read more]

PeterC started the topic 32 Months since surgery ruined my life and permanently harmed me in the forum Hernia Discussion 3 months, 3 weeks ago
Friday marked 32 months since a doctor that was heavily featured/promoted on this website severely harmed me and ruined my life. Tomorrow we have Thanksgiving here in Canada and just like the past 3 years I cannot find a single thing to be thankful for and periods like this often have me reflect on the trauma and the fact that a third year is…[Read more]

Well it seems like there are no more options left for me. For the last 2 and half years – since Dr. Brown mutilated me for absolutely no reason – I’ve been incapable of using my core, walk properly, breathe properly. I have sexual dysfunction, testicles that are deformed, etc. I am not a functional human being by any means.
I’ve been using the…[Read more]

PeterC started the topic Drs with good track records in open surgeries AND athletic pubalgia? in the forum Hernia Discussion 7 months ago
Aside from Dr. Meyers who I think is the most known Doctor to deal with athletic pubalgia, is there any other notable Dr. out there that can deal with athletic pubalgia/injuries at the insertion and regular open hernia repairs/reconstruction? Preferably in the U.S (so not the one in Germany).
I have an appointment with Dr. Krpata in Cleveland to…[Read more]

PeterC replied to the topic Has anyone ever reversed a hernia repair – more specifically a modified Bassini? in the forum Hernia Discussion 7 months, 3 weeks ago
Hey Mark,
Dr. Brown sadly did not have a plan at all. He answered all my questions with what I wanted to hear then proceeded to do the exact opposite. He went against every single thing he said to me and my parents knowing that my entire career was riding on this and that I begged him to do the strict minimum and to approach it with tissue…[Read more]

Hey @mikem
Thank you for the reply. I have recently seen Dr. Yunis and in his own words he said that what Dr. Brown did to me is ”f*cking nuts”. I do not think he fully grasped how impaired I am in my every day life and movement and I am not sure he was comfortable with surgically doing anything to me. I think he was more traumatized than I am…[Read more]

Has a surgeon previously reversed a Bassini (modified in my case) repair back to correct anatomical configuration of tissues? Is it something thats even possible?

I’ve been thinking of posting this for a while now. I don’t really sleep or do anything since Dr. Brown butchered me and I keep thinking about what I should’ve done different, known better etc. It genuinely keeps me up at night – every night. I figured maybe I would post this to help new patients with groin issues so that they can learn from my…[Read more]

Hey ya’ll. So I’ve posted here many times about how bad I’ve been since getting surgery with Dr. Brown 2 years ago. The surgery completely released my entire core and groin ( I can’t flex it or condition it at all) and among other things I lost my career as a direct result of it and pretty much my entire life. In 28 months post-operation I have no…[Read more]

For those that are new – Dr. Brown…[Read more]
