It is difficult for me to travel much, so I would like to find someone in the
Boston area. I did some searching and found surprisingly little in the Boston area
of very experienced surgeons??

I did see this fellow Dr. Reinhorn, but
I noticed he really advertises alot and pushes his practice -this may be OK
but it makes me a bit wary (I will look at this a bit more). There are hospitals
here with hernia groups but I suspect they have rote techniques. I will need
to do more searching!

Hi thanks for the response. To answer your questions– It is very large and reaches into the scrotum. The general surgeon wanted to do an open
surgery under a general anesthetic with mesh (polypropylene) and didn’t seem to know anything about alternative meshes.
I am older so I don’t expect to do highly athletic activities other than walks and house maintenance. As I said, I am looking for
a more-experienced/knowledgeable specialized hernia surgeon in the Boston area and am asking for suggestions for such a surgeon.
