I had inguinal hernia surgery and found the recovery genuinely difficult — not because of the pain, but because I had no idea what was normal on any given day. I spent a lot of time anxious, Googling symptoms at midnight, and wondering whether to call my surgeon’s office. I recovered fine, but the experience stayed with me.
Since then I’ve been building a free day-by-day recovery companion for hernia patients called Zuri. The idea is simple: you open it in your browser the day you get home from surgery, and it tells you exactly what to expect that day — what symptoms are normal, what to watch for, and a small daily check-in so you feel less alone in the process.
I joined HerniaTalk because this community represents exactly the patients I built Zuri for. I want to understand what questions people are actually asking, what the recovery experience feels like from different angles, and whether Zuri is genuinely useful. I’m here to listen and contribute — not to promote anything.
