This really is not right.I was told by the doctor who did it that it was 100% necessary if i wanted to live a normal life.I was told it would get bad and kill if not done.I was told it would never go bad as long as i never lifted too heavy or any other strenuous activity.I was so careful too.So what happens to me and the rest of us who cant get this fixed properly?? I KNOW my body and I know what needs done.Who fixes this?

“Also, Medicaid is very limiting as few specialists are available to you outside of major County-based training programs.”
That’s what’s gonna do me in.

quote Good intentions:Which surgeon are you seeing?
What is stopping the ones you’ve seen from removing the mesh?
I am almost certain that Dr. Petersen or Dr. Brown will remove the mesh, since they are very aware of the problems that mesh creates, and definitely anti-mesh. Dr. Petersen works outside of the insurance companies and has a basic flat-rate that he charges. Have you called them? They will explain everything and help you get out there. He has been around a long time so there are some bad stories but overall, he seems to have a good reputation.

RI’m broke except for about $500 in the bank.No job, savings,my mom and I are the last of our family and we know no one,no car.
I got bad fast…very fatigued and can’t move well with constant pain, bloat feeling, pain that radiates around my back,my hips are killing me bad with pain,a constant feeling of getting hit in the testicles, pelvic pain, pinching, stabbing pains, mesh rubbing/stabbing me,I can only sleep 3-4 hours then have to stand, sit, stand repeat.
Only a matter of time before we can’t afford rent and are homeless again…..I don’t know what to do…

It seems you don’t even have a diagnosis yet. In Arizona, there are few surgeons who handle complications after hernia repair. Also, Medicaid is very limiting as few specialists are available to you outside of major County-based training programs.
Have you considered seeing someone at U of Arizona or Mayo Scottsdale?
If I had better insurance I’d see you in a heartbeat. No,unless approved my insurance states I have to see doctors that are local. This is so hopeless. My mom and I have been homeless 3 times in the last 15 years and I’ve always fought so hard to find employment so we could get off the street…
I was going to start school to finally get a good job so I could take care of my mom.And now I can’t.I have tried so hard. But this is a game ender for me.I can hardly get out of bed.I have the body of someone who is dying.
This got bad fast. And I truly know deep down inside that if I can’t find someone to help me I’m in serious trouble.Like I said I have no $$ or literally anyone else in my life except my mom and she’s disabled. It kills me that I keep and kept trying and this is what happened. And believe me….I’m a fighter…I don’t give up ….but this IS the beginning of the end for me.

I don’t qualify for anything as far as assistance goes either. This is why I have accepted my fate..cause I do not have anything or anyone to help me.Thank you all for reading.I can’t believe mesh has ruined me and my life.

I’d do anything for a doctor to remove it.It limits what I can do.If it’s out…..ill I take the pain.At least I know it won’t finally do me in.I don’t know anyone…it’s just me and my mom literally.

School was my last chance to come out with a career but I got worse in the meantime. I really am at the bottom of my rope. I can feel the mesh “bite” me and rub on me plus a whole bunch of other symptoms.
just want it out.my pcp believes it’s the mesh too

quote idoncov:I hear you. I’ve been there. I know exactly what you’re going through.
You need to get the mesh out pronto.
I took antidepressants to deal with the mental part until the mesh was out. There’s light at the end of the tunnel.
I’ve always taken care of my mom up until now.Now she takes care of me…..on less than 700.00 a month. No transportation, nothing saved up in the bank, and we just had to ask for help from a local charity to move us into a new aptapartment as the last one went up on rent.
i honestly can’t work now as this has gotten so bad.
My insurance is Arizona insurance. It is called Mercy Care by Accchs. No one like Dr. Towfigh or any of the good doctors who understand mesh accept it -

I will not let myself sit around and rot….I have been preparing my soul for its final journey and am ready to go if this Dr I’m going to see does nothing.
I am ready. If all falls apart…. October 31st will be my “going home” day.At least I’m welcome there. So….in the meantime we shall see what happens…or doesn’t happen.
Like I said I am at peace with myself but will not let this take who I am with it.And no,this is not a cry for help. Some things are game changers and some game enders….
Death does not exist…..we don’t really die.

I suffer from manic depression and no way to get this mesh out

So if anyone in Tucson/AZ. know of anyone please let me know.My insurance is ACCCHS thanks.I will see what this general surgeon says and who he might refer me to.

Schools a no go as automotive parts and such are just too heavy…now my pain is a scratching pinching over the incisions…dr appointment for the 20th of this month….this sucks so bad as i cant really lift more than 5 or so pounds without pain….
-
I am really thinking it is just a really bad strain overall.

Yes I’d do it again if needed.Right now IAM pretty busy with school. Then after that more school then work. When I get time here (school vacation) ill post about my hernia symptoms.

The worst part is for 3 days after it burns pretty good when I urinated cause your urethra is raw at the end of the opening from the scope. But better a burn for a few days than not getting it done and possibly having a disease develop.

quote Lucky46:So now a follow up with a urologist.
Saw a urologist 3 weeks ago. He did a cytoscopy. My experience was good. Most men are affraid to get it done.I was a little nervous but it wasn’t too bad. The nurse pours an iodine solution on my penis then shoots a gooey lube numbing solution down my urethra.
20 minutes later the doctor comes in with two medical students who observe and one nurse. He then slides the scope down my urethra which I don’t feel.Just pressure as it goes into the prostate bladder.
My prostate was irritated but that’s all.A week dose of Prednisone clears it up.
