2017 view/review of synthetic mesh repair
I posted this document link in another Topic but it’s worth looking at as a stand-alone. The seven surgeon panel is trying to separate themselves from the “state-of-the-art” in hernia repair so their paper has a different kind of objectivity. They have to do a thorough job of describing the flaws of what exists in order to justify the value of their new technology.
It’s just human nature that when you don’t need something anymore things become much more clear. It’s a pretty good overall review of the hernia repair field, I think. Still focused on prosthetics as the end solution but the target market is the more extreme hernia problems.
