Antiobiotics after surgery
Is this no routinely done anymore? For some reason I was expecting a prescription for one but didn’t get it.

I had an inguinal hernia operation with mesh. Laparoscopic using a da Vinci machine. They weren’t sure if it was going to be bilateral but fortunately when he got in there the surgeon said everything on the other side looked fine. Just a few hours ago so i’m sore but otherwise doing fine.

What surgery did you have? How are you doing so far?
As far as my experience goes, you’ll typically be given an antibiotic in the IV before/during surgery and that is sufficient unless there is some evidence of infection post-op, but perhaps everywhere is different.
