Any recommendations on who can do open mesh or Lichtenstein repair in OR or WA?
A lot of the surgeons here offer laparoscopic and a minimally invasive approach as their expertise. However, I think I would feel more comfortable with an open approach. Trying to see if there’s any specialists or surgeon recommendations that can adequately do an open repair with mesh or Lichtenstein in either Oregon or Washington. The closest one would be David Chen over at UCLA in California.

When it comes to open mesh, I really meant just Lichtenstein style. The docs in this area say they can all do an open mesh repair but their volume and expertise is in minimally invasive techniques like laparoscopic/robotic.

Did you try any of the recommendations in your other thread?
Be careful when you say “open repair with mesh”. The plug and patch repair is open with mesh. The PHS is open with mesh. There are many types of “open with mesh” repairs.
