  • Bassini Repair Recurrence Rate?

    Hey all!

Recently had mesh removal and repair via Bassini

I’m still waiting on the OP report to see if it was modified or what, but can’t really find any recurrence rate percentages online. They are all over the place (from 6 – 50%). I know it’s not the best long term repair, but just trying set some expectations on how long this puppy will hold.

Please before you respond and say it’s gonna re open right away, why’d you go with such a weak repair, save it haha 🙂

    Thanks!

Dr. Kang actually wrote back to me and said I should’ve worry too much about it failing. If done correctly, it can hold up very well. Additionally, he said if it does ever fail, the Kang method can still be used to repair the failure.

I’m done stressing for now 🙂

    Thanks!

Here is an older thread where Dr. Kang talked about the various tissue repairs. He mentions the Bassini and what he calls the “corrupted” Bassini method.

I’ve also included a link to the Gibbeum hospital page which has the table I think that they are talking about.
