    Hey everyone!
I’m 3 days PO and overall impressed with how quickly I am recovering! (walked over 2 miles around the block today and actually have a half day tomorrow seeing patients!)

I do have a small concern though! I still have a very sizable lump in my left lower groin where the hernia was repaired that isn’t very tender but adjacent to it on my upper thigh (small area) All my skin is numb I get an occasional awakening of this area that feels like I’m being stabbed with a hot butter knife(I first noticed this about 8-10 hours after surgery). I don’t notice it sitting I just notice it it when I am stretching the psoas or I’m going from a deep squat (I’m 6’4 and sitting on the toilet takes a deep squat). Completely get it’s early in the surgery and some nerves are probably pissed off, but I do have have a small concern because I was reviewing journal articles and they state the earlier in the PO you notice nerve pain the more likely you are to have chronic pain.

Any experiences with this nerve pain/numbness?? And recommendations- OK to gently stretch still?
Obviously I need to be patient just looking for a little feedback!

I haven’t had my PO yet. I called the office just to kind of update and the nurse did not seem concerned at all, said a lot of swelling can happen from having combined procedures.

What did your surgeon say when you asked them?

They should have deep knowledge of possible side effects of their method and materials. There are so many variations that only the surgeon who does the work can really know what might go wrong, or what has gone wrong in the past, with their method and material.
