I am a 69 year old woman and had a repair of a right sided bochdalek hernia. It was an intense operation where multiple procedures were done along with cutting ribs. I have an incision from the middle of my back all the way to the front. I was curious if anyone had a similar surgery and what their recovery time was. I am now 5 weeks past surgery, was in the hospital for two weeks due to complications. I still have stitches though the staples were taken out. I still have muscle spasms and nerve pain and am trying to get by with muscle relaxers and gabapentin. I also couldn’t take any hard core drugs as my blood pressure would tank. I’m trying to find out if anyone had anything similar and if there is light at the end of the tunnel.
