Inguinal Hernia Surgery/Surgeons in Minnesota
Just yesterday I was diagnosed with a right inguinal hernia, and possibly a small one on the left side. I’m in the twin cities area.
I’ve gone through the forum and gather that Minnesota doesn’t have any dedicated hernia specialists. I’ve seen mentions of Dr. Archana Ramaswamy, but no specific recommendations to any other doctors.
I have an appointment with Dr. Kevin Ose who practices in the HealthPartners/ParkNicollet network and has been recognized by our local publications as a top doctor.

If anyone has more info or experiences with either Dr. Ramaswamy or Ose I would love to hear it. In addition, other recommendations for surgeons in the MN, Wisconsin, Iowa area would be helpful.
I’d also love to hear input on the questions I should be asking Dr. Ose during my consult. I want to make sure I’m making a good decision in who performs this surgery. It’s not the surgery that I’m worried about, it’s the post-op recovery and any sort of long term issues that come with it. For what it’s worth, I’m not bias or have an informed opinion in mesh vs no-mesh. Just looking for practical advice.
Thanks
