Interesting podcast about the state of hernia repair training today
Podcasts are popping up all over the place these days. Here is one from a group that includes Dr. Todd Heniford of Atrium Health, (formerly called Carolinas Healthcare).
An interesting discussion but the only concrete thing I could really extract from it is that if I lived near Dr. Heniford’s office he would be worth a visit if I had hernia or post-repair problems. He has been aware and vocal about mesh problems in the past and could probably choose a path forward that would give the best results.
Otherwise, it’s kind of scary. It implies that there are many poorly trained hernia surgeons out there.
