I’m interested in anyone’s experience with the removal of an intraperitoneal mesh in the abdomen. Has anyone had it done? If so, what were the results and who did it? Are there surgeons who will do it? If there were complications what were they?

I had a mesh put in this year that my body is reacting to. Activity causes the area to start itching and eventually the entire body starts to sweat and fatigue sets in. It takes very little to get to that point. A slow walk of 6-7 city blocks will do it. At that point I have to lie down and with time the sweating goes away. Depending on the activity the fatigue and sweating can last for hours or more than a day. My doctors here at Stanford seem to be completely at a loss and suggesting that I have chronic fatigue syndrome and really not providing much help at this point in time. The quality of life has diminished to the point where I can no longer cook for myself and am considering assisted living as a way of life.
