    I am wondering, when someone goes under the knife for a major surgery of the abdomen, do they use mesh to reinforce the tissues before closing up?

    What is the surgery touches the inguinal area? is mesh used in this case i.e. outside of an hernia related issue?

    ps: I know mesh have been used in women for a different problem with very adverse effects
